Compte-rendu réalisé par deux élèves du groupe ayant bénéficié de l’échange avec notre établissement partenaire du Vermont (Etats-Unis)

This October we were lucky to do an exchange with Burr and Burton Academy in Vermont with the class of DNL maths.

We set off on October 5th, we took the plane from Toulouse to New York with a stop in Montreal. We were really looking forward to discovering American culture!

Ce mois d’octobre, on a été chanceux de participer à un échange avec Burr and Burton Academy au Vermont avec la classe de DNL maths.

Départ le 5 octobre, on a pris l’avion de Toulouse à New York avec une escale à Montréal. On était vraiment impatient de découvrir la culture Américaine !

We visited the high school that was beautiful and very different to French schools.

On a visité le lycée qui était magnifique et très différent des lycées français.

After a weekend with our host families, we went to school all week with our exchange partner but we also did some activities:

Après un week-end avec nos familles d’accueil, on a été en cours toute la semaine avec notre correspondent mais on a aussi fait des activités :

• We made some crepes with the American students and they opened their school shop just for us so we could buy some of the school “swag”!

On a fait des crêpes avec les élèves américains et ils ont ouvert le magasin de leur école juste pour nous pour qu’on puisse acheter des affaires de leur école.

• We went to the maple museum then to Shelburne museum and we visited Burlington.

On est allé au musée du sirop d’érable puis au musée Shelburne et on a visité Burlington.

• We visited the mountain campus.

On a visité le campus de montagne.

• We also did pumpkin carving.

On a aussi découpé des citrouilles pour Halloween.

• We visited Hildene, the Lincoln family home and a farm next to it.

On a visité Hildene, la maison des Lincoln et la ferme à côté.

• We spent another weekend with our host families, although on Saturday, with most of the French students, we did a hike to see the sunrise at the top of a mountain.

On a passé un autre week-end avec nos familles d’accueil même si le samedi, avec la plupart des français, on a fait une randonné pour voir le lever de soleil en haut d’une montagne.

• That evening we all ate together it was nice to hang out with the American.

Ce soir-là on a tous mangé ensemble c’était agréable de trainer avec les américains.

• For our last days in Vermont, we visited the Robert Frost museum and Bennington Monument.

Pour nos derniers jours au Vermont, on a visité le musée sur Robert Frost et Bennington Monument.

• On our last evening, we ate a Thanksgiving dinner at the school then we were all sad because it was time to pack up.

Notre dernier soir ici, on a mangé un dîner de Thanksgiving au lycée puis on était tous triste parce que c’était le moment de faire nos valises.

• On the way back to France we stopped overnight in New York before taking the plane and coming back home.

Sur le chemin retour pour rentrer en France on s’est arrêté un jour à New York avant de prendre l’avion et rentrer à la maison.
